IFHAB Objectives:
IFHAB key objectives for the OIC Members States include:
- Contribute to conferring trust and credibility upon Halal labeled products and services in the market, including the global marketplace.
- Provide the prerequisites of trust in the trade exchange of Halal products and services in the OIC Member States and worldwide.
- Engage the bodies concerned with Halal accreditation in developing Halal requirements globally and standardizing Halal accreditation procedures and activities in the Muslim world, by providing a mutual recognition system (program) among the accreditation bodies in the Muslim countries for this industry and link it to the international system.
- Foster and assist the accreditation bodies of the OIC Member States to meet the needs of their local markets and achieve mutual recognition through Halal accredited certificates and collaborate with the regional and other international forums to enforce integration towards achieving their objectives.
- Enhance a reference global system for compliance assessment and leverage its progress, providing dedicated training on IFHAB areas of action, establishing a broad base of expert evaluators in the OIC Member States for issuing Halal certificates for products and services, in addition to mutual capacity building.
- Streamline the admission of compliance assessment results under multilateral recognition agreements, within the country or with external markets, without having to perform additional tests, which is beneficial for the Muslim societies and the global economy.
- Develop the Halal accreditation infrastructure in the OIC Member States with a view of acquiring international recognition.
